3. Create A Virtual Machine

Now that we’re done installing the Virtual Box. Let’s proceed to create a Virtual Machine.

In my case, I'll be creating a VM for the Oracle Enterprise Linux 7.5.

Launch the Virtual Box from the Application Folder or Launcher.

Proceed to create a VM by clicking New.

Enter the name of your VM instance (in my case I call it OEL75 lxnode11).

Set the Machine Folder to the path you want the VM file to be created.

Select the appropriate Operating System type and the version from the drop down list.

Then, click continue.

Up next is to assign a memory size for the VM. In my case, I opted for 4GB (4096 MB).

Select the option “Create A Virtual Hard Disk Now”.

Select your preferred virtual disk file type.

Select Dynamically Allocated storage.

Optionally, select to split the files. This will somehow will save the life of your SSD.

Enter the name of the VM disk file and its size. Then, proceed to create.

When done, you'll be presented with a new VM (lxnode11) in the Virtual Box Manager Window.

At this point, the VM is empty since there isn't an operating system installed yet.
